This Lent we are encouraged to put down deep roots of hope by connecting with God who is with us at all times.

The Church of England’s Lent theme for 2025 is Living Hope.

In Lent we journey with Jesus on the difficult and thorny road that leads all the way to the cross on Good Friday – and beyond, to the transformation of Easter Day.

God invites us to bring to him our own journey through everyday life. In the disappointment of daily setbacks and the pain of deeper hurts, we discover that God is present with us. And God promises a future where all things are healed and made new.  

Living Hope offers us the opportunity to deepen our hope in God and be part of what God is doing to bring hope in the world.

The service will begin at 10:00am

- Said Holy Communion with coffee, 11am. The service will be followed by coffee and a natter and is held at Woodstock, Frampton Mansell. Come for either or both. For a lift or more information, contact Pepita or Paul on 760211.

Sunday 13th April – Palm Sunday

- On Palm Sunday, the Benefice is invited to join together for a prayer walk starting at St Osmund’s Tarlton at 10am. We will walk to Rodmarton village hall where we will join the Liturgy of Palms procession at 11am.

Sunday 27th April

- All Saints Kemble APCM to take place at 11.30am in Kemble church, following the Benefice service at Poole Keynes.

Friday, 2nd May

- Glorifying God with Sustainable Flowers. A programme of demonstrations on the theme of pedestals and porches. Daglingworth Village Hall from 9.30am-1pm. Cost £6 per person on the day. Bookings: Rosemary Bailey meajrb@aol.com

Saturday 17th May

Reminder - Digital Voice Project - Volunteers Required

Dear Neighbourhood Watch Coordinator/Member,

 

Neighbourhood Watch has been assisting with raising awareness of the BT switch from its analogue telephone landline to the new Digital Voice home phone service, powered by a broadband connection. The switch from analogue to digital is planned to be completed by January 2027, and during the intervening period, BT is inviting customers to switch to its digital home phone service.

Awareness events are being planned for the locations indicated below, and at previous events run in the South West NHW Coordinators and Members have been really helpful in volunteering to run events.  Some of you have previously expressed a willingness to become involved so we would like to hear from you again.

·  To volunteer, you will be required to attend 2 online training sessions, each lasting approximately 1 hour.

·  You will also need to make your own travel arrangements to and from the event location. If you are using your car or motorbike for voluntary purposes, then you must declare your volunteering remit to your own motor insurer and obtain their consent to such use.

·  Travelling, parking, up to £5 refreshment on the day and any preapproved expenses that you will incur to run the event will be reimbursed.

John Hayward-Cripps the CEO of National Neighbourhood Watch Network recently commented about the Digital Voice Project by saying, “We had a lot of positive feedback from the public about the information given and the support of Neighbourhood Watch volunteers. We also received a great response from volunteers who helped deliver the project about the support they received and the value of their work. The lessons from the project will serve as a successful blueprint for how Neighbourhood Watch can mobilise within very local areas.”
